This Month: Adolescence on Screen

Each month Spotlight On... takes an existing Screenonline collection of films and asks a range of subject teachers to develop resources around the various featured films and extracts.

So far, we've looked at Topical Budget - the pre-eminent newsreel of the 1910s and 20s, a fantastic collection of animated short films - that includes the innovative A is for Autism, as well as a group of films and programmes that deal with the ever controversial topic of housing.

This month, however, the focus is on how a variety of filmmakers have chosen to represent adolsecents on screen - there are teenage tantrums and tentative love affairs but the collection also looks at some of the more violent and unnerving portraits of a frustrated and angry youth.
